Estates on Bordeaux's Right Bank embrace the ripe, velvety quality that Merlot grapes bring to red blends, and Chateau Terrasson is no exception. Their Merlot-dominant Cuvee Prevenche hails from old vines in Castillon.
Cotes de Bordeaux, an area just east of Saint-Emilion, and charms with fragrant notes of blackberry, plum, tobacco, woodsy spice, and earth that resolve in a long, chocolatey finish. Supple tannins and fresh acidity contribute to its elegant structure, allowing for a variety of pairings - try wine-braised chicken, grilled strip steaks, or a flaky mushroom pot pie.
Tasting: Ripe flavors of red berries and blackberry, framed by smoke and toast, while a crisp edge of acidity keeps this lively. Tannins are solid and well-integrated. Smooth and long finish provides great value.
