Producer's description:

Muirhead's whiskey was first produced by Charles Muirhead and Sons (Charles Muirhead & Sons). The company, based in Edinburgh, near the port of Leith, was founded in 1824 to trade in wine. After some time, was released flagship brand Muirhead's Blue Seal.
Muirhead family roots go back to ancient times, when the Scottish clan was in the service of King James IV. In 1513 at Brenkston Moore on Flodden Field was one of the disastrous battles between the English and the Scots, which killed more than a thousand Scots, including Lord Clan - John Muirhead and King James IV. Translated from the Gaelic surname Muirhead means "the highest point of Moore" ("Highest Point of the Moor") or "master Moore" (Head of the Moor "").
In 1920, the company acquired Macdonald & Muir Distillers, better known as Glenmorangie Company. Since then whiskey Muirhead's started gaining popularity around the world. Apart from Muirhead's Blue Seal, the company launched the brands Gold Label, Silver Label and Old Maturity. In 2008 the company was taken over by another famous family distillers who are also owners of Tullibardine Highland Single Malt Distillery. To date, the brand Muirhead's owned by an American company Frank-Lin Distillers Products.
On each bottle of whiskey depicts strap kilt - clan coat of arms in the center - a hand with a sword raised up. Slogan Clan - Auxilio Dei ("God willing") is also present on the bottle of whiskey.
